Cross-cultural awareness training in London, UK

It happens every now and then: a successful professional gets promoted to an overseas branch office. He departs starry-eyed and bushy-tailed only to come rushing back home a few months later, unable to cope with the new country. Or even worse, he keeps on and bungles everything beyond repair because what work back home does not always work abroad. Employees' culture shock can cost their company much more than just the cost of relocation.

To beat that to the punch and make your foreign experience a worthwhile one, I have prepared these seminars. They deal with the four countries I know best: Thailand, Japan, Russia and Holland.

Each seminar contains several major topics: country overview, history and culture, society and politics, education and language, mindset, working with the locals, etiquette and taboos, practicalities. I give special attention to the practical aspects of doing business in the country.

I also brief you on every aspect of living in a new country: from the best ways to get used to the climate to the 10 most frequently committed blunders.

Each topic inludes three parts:

1) condensed theoretical background, including audio and visual presentation: things you need to know before you go;

2) practical implications: things that follow from the theory you have just learnt;

3) practical exercises, including role plays and problems from real life situations: practice make perfect, situational memory is the best.

It is only natural that you will have a lot of various questions: feel free to ask them any time!

At the end of the training you will be equipped with the practice-oriented knowledge of the country, its people and their ways. All the things others pay very dearly to learn over the course of years, you will find out in a few hours.

My mission is to spare you, as much as only possible, from learning from your own mistakes. My second biggest wish is to help you gain experience from your experiences. That's the best capital you can acquire in this life. When you are warned of the bads but also prepared for the goods, there is every chance that you can use your time in the new country to your best vantage!

You can find out more about me or email me for more details. I have excellent references from my former students and employers that can be furnished upon request. Hear from you soon!
