Holland: Cross-Cultural Awareness Training, London, UK

It happens every now and then: a successful professional gets promoted to the Amsterdam branch office. He or she departs starry-eyed and bushy-tailed only to come rushing back home a few months later, unable to cope with the new country. Or even worse, he or she keeps on and bungles everything beyond repair because what work back home does not always work abroad. Employees' culture shock can cost their company much more than just the cost of relocation.

Holland, the land of blonde pub-going English-speakers seems so familiar and cosmopolitan. Appearances may be deceptive. I can explain how and why, I am Dutch myself now - and I have a letter from Amsterdam's Mayor to prove it.
